If you walk down the street and step on a bug, you didn’t do it to kill, you probably won’t even notice, but for that bug, it’s the matter of life and death. Humans mean nothing to these foreign powers, they might see our world but don’t concern themselves with individuals. Just like in Lovecraft’s works, we’re mere observers. A human being is in comparison completely insignificant. There is a hierarchy of gods, and their affairs are way above our understanding. Lusst’ghaa operates on rules beyond human understanding. There are motivations in play that we’d perhaps empathize with if we were allowed to explore them, and that’s what makes this world terrifying, just like Lovecraft’s stories. The story of Lusst’ghaa is truly tragic, more so because its current state wasn’t caused by evil intent. We’ve tried to achieve that feeling of foreignness with our worldbuilding and plot. The first and most obvious thing about Lusst’ghaa is its otherworldliness. The game takes place in two dimensions: our ordinary, everyday world, and the “alien” land, Lust’ghaa. We’ve used several motifs found in Lovecraft’s works. I had the pleasure to be involved in the game Lust from Beyond: M Edition, by Movie Games Lunarium, that has just released on Steam. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. Grimoire of Horror : Horror community (games, literature, film, etc.) Rule 5: Only videos allowed are Behind-The-Scenes, Analysis, Countdowns, and Trailer videos.Ī more-detailed list of our rules can be found here Rule 4: If you are an indie developer, or represent an indie development team, do not advertise your games until they are fully completed and released. Some exceptions may be made if it is an obscure game that has not been posted before, or it offers a mature analysis of a game, but ask first! These can be posted in r/horrorgamevideos. Rule 3: Please DO NOT post LET'S PLAY, WALKTHROUGH, COMPILATION or REACTION videos. Rule 2: Submissions must be "horror -gaming" themed, not just horror. We are not really interested in creepy pasta posts/memes/reaction videos/let's plays, and more interested in finding and discussing horror gaming past, present, and upcoming. We would like this sub to emphasize quality news posts and discussions regarding horror themed or focused gaming.
